Chocolate-Butterscotch Chow Mein Clusters

No-Bake chocolate-butterscotch Chow Mein Cluster cookie. Holiday family favorite. They are also called Chow Mein Cookies, or Simply No-bake chow mein cookie. Also known as Chow Clusters.

Equipment

  • 1 saucepan
  • 1 spoon
  • 1 wax paper
  • 1 storage container

Materials

  • 2 cups chocolate chips (one 11.5oz bag)
  • 2 cups butterscotch chips (one 11oz bag)
  • 5 oz chow mein noodles (1 can)
  • 1/2 cup cashews or peanuts

Instructions

  • Melt the chocolate and butterscotch chips.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add Chow Mein Noodles & Cashews.
  • Mix and coat until everything is combined.
  • Spoon onto wax paper in desired sizes.
  • Let cool completely
  • Eat, share or store them.

Notes

This recipe uses cashews, but peanuts or pecans could also be a substitute. I purchased one 14oz can of cashews for this recipe. However, this recipe only calls for 1/2 cup. I think I'd add more next time. In addition, the $15 cost includes an entire can of cashews. In most cases you can just use what you have left over from other recipes, eliminating the additional cost.
