One of the cookbooks in our library includes: Budget Bytes: Over 100 Easy, Delicious Recipes to Slash Your Grocery Bill in Half (affiliate link). While I was flipping through this book I came across this sesame noodle recipe. I’ve made it a bunch of times. I’ve even doubled the ingredients so we could have leftovers the next day.
It’s obvious I enjoy this dish. That is also the reason I’ve decided to photograph the steps. This makes it much easier to reference on my iPad while working in the kitchen.
At first glance it seems like a lot of ingredients and it might be complicated to make. But trust me if a monkey can make it, so can you.
Here is my variation of this dish.
First, gather the ingredients.
Cook 8 oz of spaghetti noodles per the package directions. Drain and set aside. This recipe doubles easily so we just cook the entire 16 oz package of noodles.
Melt the butter with the garlic over low heat. Cook until the garlic is soft and lightly toasted.
In another mixing bowl combine the following.
3 tablespoons of soy sauce.
3 tablespoons rice vinegar.
3 tablespoons brown sugar.
1/2 teaspoon toasted sesame oil.
1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes.
Mix well and then combine with the cooked noodles.
Add the chicken, pork or just leave plain. We like our sesame noodles with chicken which is pictured here.
Add 3 tablespoons Tahini. I’ll admit, I had no idea what tahini was before I made this recipe. Here is an example of what it looks like. Organic Tahini, Kevala Glass Jar 16oz may not be the exact brand we have at our local grocery store but it gives you an idea of what to look for if you decide to make this.
I honestly had no idea where to find this. I ended up searching the foreign food isle of my local grocery store.
That’s it, mix well and serve.
